My copy of The Outsider was taken from Michael Bird's own video recording made when the series was broadcast back in 1983. The tapes have been transferred to DVD and they reproduce remarkably well (thankfully - since it is probably the only way anyone will get to see the series again.)

The DVD is 'region free' so it will play anywhere in the world.

As 'extra features' I have added a half hour documentary about the production of 'The Teesdale Mercury' - the paper Bird took as his model for the series, and a recording of a drama class at Stefan Gryff's drama school in which students read extracts from Bird's "Outsider" script and get feedback from a panel consisting of Michael Bird, Stefan Gryff and Vere Lorrimer.
